Aikengall II – Wester Dod
Aikengall II Community Wind Farm was given planning consent by the Scottish Government in March 2013. The windfarm has 19 turbines with an installed capacity of 60.8 MW and is situated in the Lammermuir Hills in East Lothian. For more information please visit.
Crystal Rig 1, 2 & 3
When Crystal Rig Windfarm commenced operation in October 2003 it was the largest onshore wind farm in Scotland with a rated output of 50MW consisting of 20 Nordex 2.5 MW N80 turbines. Various extensions have been completed over the years and now consists of 91 turbines and is also based in the Lammermuir Hills and straddles the boundary between Berwickshire and East Lothian . The Scottish Government gave consent for Penmanshiel Wind Farm on 16th October 2013 consisting of 14 turbines with a installed capacity of 28.7MW. Built on Penmanshiel Moor close to Grantshouse on the Eastern side of Berwickshire. For more information please visit.
Quixwood (Moor Windfarm)
Planning permission was granted by Scottish Borders Council in April 2013 consisting of 13 turbines with a capacity of up to 29.9MW. Banks Renewables started construction but by August 2015 had sold the farm to NTR Ltd. Built on Quixwood Moor and close to Grantshouse on the Eastern side of Berwickshire. Planning permission granted by Scottish Borders Council with work starting in November 2005 and operational in February 2007. Consisting of 22 turbines and has a capacity of 28.6MW. Built to the North West of Duns and South of Longformacus in central Berwickshire.
